Job Opportunity – OB Hospitalist – Texas

Start Date: Immediate need; Urgent dates in September
Location: Texas
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 24-hour shifts (8:00am – 8:00am); availability for several shifts per month required

• Comprehensive OB Hospitalist role including labor & delivery, antepartum, postpartum, and OBED coverage
• Opportunity to work with a collaborative team and provide consultative support across departments
• Participation in quality improvement initiatives and accreditation compliance activities

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of OB experience required
• Active medical license and clean credentials file for temporary privileges
• Board certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology
• Proficiency in fetal heart monitoring; NCC fetal heart monitoring certification preferred
• Experience managing high-risk obstetric patients, emergencies, and complicated deliveries including TOLAC
• Ability to provide surgical assist services and perform cesarean sections

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and manage unassigned obstetrical and gynecological patients from admission to discharge
• Provide active awareness and emergency response for all patients on L&D, antepartum, postpartum, and OBED units
• Deliver patients when assigned community physicians are unable to attend in time
• Provide consultative support throughout the facility for obstetrical cases
• Coordinate transport of acute or critically ill patients to/from other facilities as needed
• Conduct H&P exams, maintain timely electronic medical record documentation
• Partner with nursing staff to ensure operational efficiency in the OBED
• Participate in massive transfusion protocol activations and obstetric emergencies
• Engage in quality improvement activities, drills, and morbidity/mortality reviews
• Support coordination and scheduling of cesarean sections and other OB/GYN procedures
